The 2015 Scratch Choir, looking splendid at the Autumn Concert at Othery Village Hall

COME AND JOIN THE SCRATCH CHOIR FOR 2019 ...
Of course we're going to do it again!
What a triumphant return for the Scratch Choir in 2018! After a year's layoff, we stormed back with greater numbers than ever before, more choirs represented and sounding absolutely stunning into the bargain. Of course it's coming back for 2019!

So, if you've never heard of the Scratch Choir, what is it then?
The Scratch Choir is a group of singers from different places in Somerset, Dorset and Devon (and who knows, maybe even further afield this year). Most of the members sing with community choirs in the area. We are united every summer to sing together and have fun, meet new people, making lifelong friends ... and make some wonderful music along the way.
We meet every week during the Summer Holidays. And it's a bit of a community choir festival because it's organised when most regular choirs are on their summer break. So it's a chance to meet singers from other choirs and to represent your own choir. We also organise a finale concert in the Autumn, to showcase the scratch choir's work, as well as inviting the choirs from whom the singers have come, so that they can perform their own songs. Every year it goes down a storm!

Along the way, the Scratch Choir has raised over £5,000 for local charities.
This year, I want to make the Scratch Choir and the Finale Concert BIGGER than ever. Have a look around the website, find out more, then ...
Come and sing!
